Apple in 2022: iPhone 14, New iMac, AR/VR Headset, & More

There are some exciting products on the horizon for 2022 if rumors are to be believed, including the first iPhone without a notch, a larger iMac with a mini-LED display and Apple silicon chip, an entirely overhauled MacBook Air, and maybe even Apple’s first new wearable since the Apple Watch — the long-rumored AR/VR headset.

  1. Then the pundits get to complain about the hole punch. For me solution has always been just put small forehead all the way across the top KISS.

For me what I would like to see for us normals that just want a larger iMac screen is a 27-inch version of the 2021 24-inch M1 iMac with plain 5K screen. Again KISS.

Apple then should have a truly professional 27-inch or bigger iMac version. With all the ports that professionals need including 10GB Ethernet, and a high end screen.

  2. I feel like a new iMac Pro is such a "will they/won't they" kind of a topic. Speaking realistically; the iMac Pro came out during the trash can Mac Pro era as a way to bring professionals a machine that was more 'Pro' than the trash can had turned out to be in the eyes of a lot of its users. Then the 2019 Mac Pro came out. The absolute king of professional customizability. With a maximum RAM capacity that put the iMac Pro to shame along with the capability to run 2 w6900's, upgrade the processor, install afterburner for pro res, pop in however much SSD room you wanted (ALL the SSD room for days), pop in cards with more thunderbolt ports… You name it! Then, one year later (true to Apple form up to that point), they removed the iMac Pro from the lineup. I don't think that was because they were going to be replacing it right away like many had originally speculated because, unless they aren't planning to replace it at ALL, Apple usually doesn't remove previous versions of a new release until at least a year has gone by with its replacement existing in the lineup. While I DO believe the larger iMacs that are about to come out next will have the m1Pro/Max processors and likely even the option to upgrade to the leaked dual interconnected dyes, I also believe there might not end up being an iMac that retains the 'Pro' name, especially not with additional rumours flying around about an upcoming Apple Silicon Mac Pro.

  3. Were redesigns of Mac Mini, and Mac Pro cut from this video for time consideration? Or are there just no credible rumors on them for 2022? Happy New Year. Thanks for all the great videos over the past few years.

  4. I would like to know what’s the objective for those lenses really. Because for such a price it has to be very good. But I still not sure about what to do with it. I mean, AAA gaming is not in the radar yet, then I consider watching movies more confortable in external screens like a TV or iPad…so is it for augmented reality?. If that is the answer, then it’s crazy expensive, even more considering that probably it needs to be used indoors. I hope this device is already distributed between developers, with interesting applications for the industry, because otherwise I don’t see the purpose

  5. Before I even consider an Apple Watch, it’ll need to have an at least, a 5 day battery. (like my 7yo Garmin vivoactive HR.)
That’s the only thing preventing me from upgrading

  6. $3,000 AR/VR headset=Dead on Arrival
My son got an Oculus Quest 2 for Christmas and I'm amazed at the experience at just $300. Facebook will eat Apples lunch here if they launch at anything above $1K, much less $3K.
